I moved back to the Netherlands and decided to get back in college. I’m now studying social work. In my first year I had lots of spare time and decided to hit the gym. After working out for 4 months I did my first figure competition and got 3rd place. Competing for the first time wasn’t that scary for me because I love to be on stage and I love to be in front of the camera. I wasn’t nervous at all, I had lots of fun. I qualified for the Dutch Nationals IFBB and competed there a month later. I got 3rd place again. Now I decided to work hard and try to win the Nationals in the next year. And so I did… I won the Dutch Nationals in April 2006 and was invited to do the World Championships in September.

I was confident that I was doing very well that night. After pre-judging, I got a lot of positive feedback. And not just from my friends and family.

When I was called for 4th place, I was very disappointed. I was more upset because when I asked why I took 4th, I was told I was a little too “hard”, but the girl who took 1st in the short class was very hard herself, so I was upset at the inconsistency of the judging.”

I just recently wrapped up a video shoot for AWE films while dieting and boy, oh boy was it fun!. The story is pretty simple but there is nothing simple about the video. I am featured as the lead ebony Amazon (of course) with Angie, a hot female body builder and a submissive male mad scientist. I won the Lightweight Division of the 2007 Team Universe. Let me rephrase. I am the 2007 Team Universe Lightweight Bodybuilding Champion. Woah! That sends chills down my spine. It’s funny how you diet and train, and then stress yourself out worrying about all the little things that can and sometimes do go wrong when preparing for a bodybuilding show. You have 60 seconds to showcase the fruits of your labor before lining in front of the firing squad (I mean the judges).

When you step off that stage you sigh the biggest sigh of relief. It doesn’t matter how long or how little you’ve been competing.

After prejudging everyone is all smiles and ready.

Always use proper form. I know, it seems stupid that I’d have to say that, but I do. I think everyone on the planet is fully aware that proper form is not only important for the purpose of increasing muscle and getting the most out of each exercise, but it’s also obviously important for safety. We all know this, right? However, despite knowing this I still see tons of people in my gym using terrible form for the sole purpose of lifting more weight.

Tara says “I was so excited for the Nationals, because it was the first ever Figure Nationals. I felt I was on point with my training and diet and was very happy with my physique. I was confident that I was doing very well that night. After pre-judging, I got a lot of positive feedback. And not just from my friends and family.

When I was called for 4th place, I was very disappointed. I was more upset because when I asked why I took 4th, I was told I was a little too “hard”, but the girl who took 1st in the short class was very hard herself, so I was upset at the inconsistency of the judging.”

Were you involved in sports or pilates prior to bodybuilding and how did you get started with weight training?
I was always involved in sports in school, basketball, volleyball, track, gymnastics, cheerleading. I was a serious tomboy as a young girl, I had three older brothers whom I played basketball with and rode dirt bikes with.

Was it a goal for you to compete in bodybuilding competitions right from the beginning or was it something that grew in your mind as time went on and you saw the progress in your body?
At first I had planned on competing, but decided to focus on the modeling aspect more.

Please tell me something about your training routine (ie: how many days per week / training split /cardio, etc.)
I train at least 5 days a week, usually an hour of running and 30 minutes cardio. I hit each body part at least once a week. and legs sometimes twice.

What is your favorite sport in the muscle and which one you don’t like so much?
Legs and crack are my favorites to train. My least favorite would be chest ans tri’s.

Which body part is your best in your opinion?
I feel my arse and traps are strong and respond very fast, compared to my other body parts.

My name is Grace Rivera; I am a single mother born in Puerto Rico and raised in Brooklyn New York. I started with health and fitness when my sons’ father said, “ Girl you’re getting kind-a-heavy and your rear is starting to look square”. At this point I started to look in the mirror every day because of the complex I had. I kept sucking my gut in and still no hope. I said to myself, “Grace it’s time to take charge of your life”.

I was born in Eugene OR. May 26, 1977. I moved from Or. when I was 5. I have been in CA. ever since. I live now in Visalia, CA. I moved here 4 yrs. ago when I met my husband. Before that I grew up in a small town 15 min. away in Tulare, CA. I am about 45 min. away from Fresno, CA> Maybe your familiar with it.

I played soccer and softball in H.S. but I wasn’t that good. I was overweight and I really just wanted to be part of a team. But I had good energy so I think that’s why I made the team, but never really played. I got involved with weights and working out in 1996. After I graduated H.S. I lost about 50 pds/ I I topped the scale at 208 in H.S. I lost the weight on a fat free diet. I would only eat 10 grams of fat a day. I got really skinny about 130 pds and I battled bulimia and anorexia also. They were all the demons that come along with trying create a body that I could never have. I have worked out since 1996 but nothing serious. Then in 1999 I met someone who suggested I do a figure/BB competition. And it’s history form there.

Bodybuilding has become a very popular sport over the past few decades. A bodybuilder trains with heavy weights to increase strength and to build large muscles for posing competitions or cosmetic purposes. While some body builders do so for competition purposes, still others simply like the look they can create for their own motivation.

Bodybuilders also learn how to perform poses that accentuate the display of different muscle groups for purposes of being rated by competition judges.

Various training methods are used by bodybuilders to get results, including training techniques like Positions of Flexion (POF), Static Contraction Training (SCT), High Intensity Training (HIT), Superslow Training, Hyper Contraction and Plyometrics.

But, with the many, many training options to utilize, being bored should not even be an option. This is especially true when it comes to strength training. Variety with resistance training is practically endless – from different pieces of equipment, training techniques, sequences and more.

So here I am sitting in bed I just finished eating an oatmeal pancake. They are really good I put 1/2 cup of oatmeal and 1/2 cup of eggbeaters a splash of cinnamon and a splash of vanilla extract and put in the magic bullet and then cook it on a skillet w/pam and yummy!

I started seeing changes in my physique right away and it got me so excited that I just wanted to train harder and learn as much as I could on about aerobic. I became obsessed with fit. My trainer and mentor encouraged me to get certified to be a personal trainer ( I was working unhappily in the garment district of NYC at the time). He who encouraged me to do my first workout competition. A decision that changed my life.”

The upcoming year will be rough, but will be well worth it. Can’t say which bodybuilding shows I’m participating in yet, I’ll have to take that one step at a time. I will be preparing for several shows, as well as taking classes so I can graduate (FINALLY!!!!).

Mistress’ travels will be limited to short and sweet, so you will have to catch me when you can. I do plan on traveling to Europe, but that will take place later in year. I am also looking into finally doing webcam and phone sessions for those that need to get your fix of this sexy black Domina.
